International comedy and burlesque star to host Sugarhill ‘08’s after dark programme
Still think you’ll have energy to burn when the main stage goes dark on Saturday night? Good, because we’ve come up with an exclusive late night show that promises to be both outrageous and gut-wrenchingly funny at the same time.
Your host for the evening is the inimitable Miss Tina C, the international country star who’s come a long way from her childhood in Open Throat Holler, TN. And although she might be a global icon for peace, movie-star, role-model, political campaigner, songwriter, friend to animals and the oppressed, mother, daughter and star, Tina C wants all her fans to remember that she’s just a girl-singer at heart.
Tina’s been described by The Independent as being “as polished, sparkling and tasteless as the rhinestone on her tiny denim frock”. Her hits are legendary, but if you need reminding then these tracks will still have you singing, crying and laughing long after she’s singing with St Peter on banjo . . .
No Dick’s As Hard As My Life
Not Tonight Darlin’, I Got A Heartache
Course I Want You For Your Body (Got A Mind of My Own)
Our Love Died Like Elvis (It Was Messy At The End)
I Became Schizophrenic (So I Could Love You Twice As Much)
I Thought I Left You (What You Doing Alive?)
The first act to be confirmed to appear alongside Tina C is charismatically-challenged uncle and mute nephew co-operative The Raymond and Mr Timkins Revue. An act combining driven rock anthems (on stylophone and acoustic guitar), with a plethora of prop-assisted material and some serial wordplay that would put Stephen Fry to shame, they have to be seen to be believed, but don’t be surprised if you die laughing at the same time.
We’ll be confirming more acts for the late night programme very soon, so get your skates on and get your festival tickets sorted – click here to find out how to buy yours today!
