Edinburgh-based Broken Records combine a range of instruments including violin, cello, accordion and mandolin to create a sound influenced by The Dirty Three and Nick Cave that is exciting both fans and the music industry in general. Last year was a busy one – as well as over 60 live gigs including live sessions on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, and support slots for the likes of Editors, Idlewild and Sons and Daughters, Broken Records were voted Best of the T Break Stage at T in the Park. We’re mighty chuffed that they’re making a special sojourn from their home in Scotland to play the main stage at Sugarhill ’08. myspace.com/brokenrecords
